New Tatt!

Well, this has nothing to do with my Australian travels, but I am very excited about it, so had to post it.  My sister, mom and I thought it would be a great idea to all get a similar tattoo for my grandma that has Alzheimers.  Her favorite flowers are sweet peas and she loves hummingbirds.  The first one is my tattoo, the second is my mom's.  She was scared shitless getting it done as it is her first tattoo and she thought it was going to be very painful.  In the end, she said it wasn't bad at all.  Mine on the other hand, is not my first tattoo, and hurt like a bitch!!  Surprisingly my hip bone hurt more then the ribs, but don't get me wrong, the ribs wasn't anything easy either!
I'll post pictures of my sisters tattoo once I get one.

Pre-trip...

Well, it's about 6 weeks prior to my departure and I know I have a TON of stuff that I need to do, yet I can't seem to figure out what it is!! LOL
I have backpacked before, but it was about 4 years ago, and I seem to have forgotten what is involved!  PLUS, Christmas is just around the corner....TOO much to do.  But it always gets done, right!

So for those interested, this is my plan for the 2009 year.
I'll be in Melbourne Jan 23, I have tickets to go see the Australian Open, then I head to Adelaide with a friend for a week, after which I'll be heading to Launceston, Tasmania, on Feb 8th for a 12 week work contract with the Launceston General Hospital.  I plan on working enough to save money for my travels, then hit the road and see Australia and surrounding areas.  Tassie will be the most I work in one place, after that I will be doing 4-6 week contracts throughout the East coast, taking time off in between to see the country.  I also want to hit New Zealand and Fiji.....maybe I'll be there for next Christmas!

I figure this blog will be a great way to keep track of all my adventures and a way to express how they are going!  Which I am sure most will be exhilarating

So for now, I have to get through the Christmas holidays, finish up work (last shift Jan 4th!! Yay!), then start packing......ugh...
